Andrius Botyrius was a Lithuanian educator and folklore collector who collected fairy tales and submissions about Perkūnas. Based on the material he collected and the works of S. Daukantas, T. Narbutas, A. Schleicher, M. Strijkovskis, etc., he published an article in the Moscow University Journal (1871) “Saga about the Lithuanian thunderous Thunder Thunder”. He helped to prepare a publication of one hundred Lithuanian folk songs published in this publication in 1872 by the Cyrillic people.
