Language is a way to realize my life journey which brought me as a young chinese woman from my native Hong Kong to a very different culture of New York City. Various spirals and circles and lines represent my path over the course of this interesting journey. It also reminds me of a history revealed in the cross sections of the tree trunks. Having the young trees planted in front of my mural provides a nice analog to my story. I hope after many many years the trunks of these trees will be able to tell their story.
